Vintage Napier Komondor Puli Terrier Dog Figural Brooch Pin Gold Tone
Long Haired Dog Breed
Komondor or Puli Herding Dog
Goldtone Metal
Twisted Rope Design
Designer Signed
Corded Coat Mop Like
Skye Terrier or Yorkshire Terrier
Old English Sheepdog

This unusual gold tone dog brooch or pin could represent the breed of dog known as a Komondor or a Puli, both have corded coats and often are said to resemble large mops. It could also be an Old English Sheepdog. All of these breeds were bred to guard livestock and their thick coats protected them from predators as well as the weather. If you are looking at smaller breeds it could be a Skye Terrier or Yorkshire Terrier, affectionately known as a Yorkie.

The beautifully designed dog has a coat made of twisted rope. This dog brooch or pin measures 1 3/4 inches long and is 1 1/4 inches tall. The back is marked in a circle with the word NAPIER with the copyright symbol below. The back has a straight pin with roll over closure.

Napier was founded in 1875, but did not begin using the name Napier until 1922. The copyright symbol was added after 1955, so this is most likely from the 1960s or 1970s.

The pin is in excellent vintage condition with no visible wear. It would make a great addition to your collection of figural jewelry. A great pin to wear to the next Dog Show you attend or a great gift for your favorite Dog Breeder or Dog Show Judge.
