Holy Land Olive Wood Praying Figurine  Hand Carved

A  hand carved bust made  of  Olive Wood; likely to have been made by local Bethlehem or Nazarene artisans. This hand carving is unique in that the depiction is of a youngster, or perhaps an angel,  hands in prayer rather than a more typical Holy Family member.

Designed to foster contemplativeness, the determined look of the figure suggest real-world rather than other worldliness transfixion.

Each of the many carvings produced in the Holy Land is different as the swirls of each piece of wood creates unrivaled attractive visual effects. Each contrast and wood grain makes for a different and unique piece despite similarities.

This piece is 3 1/2 inches across and stands 4 1/2 inches tall; it's depth: 2 1/2 inches.
