3 Large Spineless Prickly Pear Cactus Paddle Cuttings (Opuntia Ficus-Indica)
Bring a taste of the Lone Star State to your garden! You will receive three (3) premium, large, unrooted spineless prickly pear cactus pad cuttings, freshly harvested and proudly grown and Hand picked in Texas.
Also known as Nopales or Indian Fig, this variety is highly prized for being completely spineless (smooth), making it incredibly easy to handle, plant, and harvest.
Why Choose Opuntia Ficus-Indica?
Thrives on Neglect: Extremely drought-tolerant, cold-hardy, and low-maintenance once established. Perfect for xeriscaping, rock gardens, or patio pots.
Beautiful Blooms & Edible Fruit: Produces gorgeous yellow flowers in late spring, followed by sweet, vibrant purple-red edible fruits (tunas).
Edible Nopales: The young tender pads can be harvested, sliced, and cooked for traditional Mexican dishes.
Pollinator Friendly: Attracts bees and butterflies to your yard while remaining deer-resistant.
Planting & Care Instructions:
Callus: Your cuttings are freshly cut. Allow the cut end to dry and callus over for a few days if it hasn't already upon arrival.
Soil: Plant the bottom 1/3 of the pad upright in well-draining cactus/succulent soil mix.
Water: Do not water for the first 2 weeks. Once roots begin to form, water thoroughly only when the soil is completely dry.
Sunlight: Provide plenty of bright, direct sunlight (full sun).
Note: While this variety is classified as spineless, nature occasionally produces tiny, hair-like glochids. Always handle live plants with care!
