This sale is for 25ml of pure Jessner’s Skin Peel.

I am an industrial formulation chemist by trade and have derived a pure grade of Jessner’s Skin Peel using pharmaceutical grade Salicylic acid, Resorcinol and Lactic Acid dissolved in pharmaceutical grade ethanol.  There are no chemical preservatives or additives.

A chemical peel is a body treatment technique used to improve and smooth the texture of the facial skin using a chemical solution that causes the dead skin to slough off and eventually peel off

Jessner's peel solution, formerly known as the Coombe's formula, was pioneered by Dr Max Jessner, a German-American dermatologist. Dr Jessner combined salicylic acid, lactic acid, and resorcinol in an ethanol base. It is thought to break intracellular bridges between keratinocytes.  It is very difficult to "overpeel" the skin due to the mild percentages associated with the acid combination.

Salicylic Acid is a Beta Hydroxy Acid (BHA) which can dissolve skin oils deep into the pores. This process helps acne and oily prone skin types. Salicylic acid cleans the oily pores of the skin that cause blackheads, enlarged pores and acne outbreaks.  Oil production in the skin is hence reduced.

Lactic acid is an Alpha Hydroxy acid (AHA) that is used to encourage cell production and help collagen formation.  In turn helping to make the skin soft and smooth.

Resorcinol is an effective exfoliating agent that loosens the damaged skin layers and hence exposing the new fresh skin cells.

Jessner's Skin Peel is a light to medium peel which is suitable for all skin types, especially those with acne or oily skin.  The peel is effective against the following skin conditions;

Fine Wrinkles

Acne

Areas of Dryness

Uneven Pigmentation

Blackheads

Whiteheads

Rough & Dry Skin

Large Pores

Ageing Skin & Wrinkles

Rosacea

Psoriasis

Actinic Keratosis

Directions for use

First Timers - It is advised for first time users to perform a patch test to gauge the skin’s sensitivity to this peel, as follows;

Initially cleanse the skin with a suitable cleanser / toner.  Take a cotton pad and dampen with the solution.  Apply the damp cotton pad to a small area of the cheek and wait 1-2 minutes, and then wash with plenty of warm water to remove the peel.

There should be no redness, burning or formation of blisters during the treatment.  If this is the case discontinue use as your skin type is too sensitive for this particular peel.  But, the skin can turn light pink during the peel process, after 48hrs the skin colour will return to normal.

General Procedure – Wipe a dampened cotton pad over the face with Jessner’s Skin Peel.  Leave for 2 mins then wash off with plenty of warm water.  Repeat every week increasing the time period of the peel on the face by 1 min each time for a period of 6 weeks in total.  After the 6 weeks it is advised to allow the skin to rejuvenate for at least 2 weeks before beginning a further treatment regime.  After each treatment use moisturizer to ensure the skin does not dry out.  During sunny weather wear the appropriate sun screen to protect the newly exposed skin cells (SPF15 is recommended).

During the treatment phase the skin will peel and appear flaky after 1-2 days after treatment.  This is a part of the treatment removing the dead skin cells.
