2 1/4" x 50' Thermal Paper is a special fine paper that is impregnated (covered) with a chemical that changes color when exposed to heat. Thermal Paper have protective coating on top layer of the paper so that it does not fade due to UV rays, water and oil and does not cause much damage to it. This protective layer protects the paper from the printer heat. Thermal paper are used in thermal printers and lightweight devices such as cash registers, and credit card terminals.
