In ancient times, this region encompassed most of present-day Aydın and Muğla provinces, as well as the western edge of Denizli province. The northern boundary is defined by the Büyük Menderes (Maiandros) River, while the Indos River forms the border with Lycia to the east. The Aegean Sea borders the west and south.

The stones used in this product come from natural environments, specifically the PAKTOLOS River, which originates from Bozdağ and flows through the ancient city of Sardes, the capital of the Lydian Kingdom, before draining into the Gediz River. The ancient city of Sardes was established due to the gold deposits carried by the Paktolos River from the Bozdağlar. The treasures of King Croesus (Karun) are from this period.

Another legend states that King Midas of Phrygia, who could turn everything he touched into gold, lost this ability when he bathed in this river, which consequently transformed into a river that carried gold.
