Big Little Books have been around since just after WWI, varying somewhat in size but always around 3" x 4" x 1": a really think Tiny-Tot or Tip Top Elf book: meant for smaller hands. They always had a picture on the right side of the open book and text on the left. Older books had fewer pictures.
