Each piece is designed to create a tiny section of the completed sphere. As the pieces are correctly placed, the puzzle defies gravity and incredibly curves skyward. It seemingly does the impossible!
The "North Pole" piece has a trap door cut into it. When the rest of the puzzle is complete, this trap door can be opened allowing the last piece to snap into place, and then resealed. It is utterly amazing!
This 530 piece jigsaw puzzle assembles into a free standing sphere. Unique to 3D puzzles, these are made with traditional jigsaw pieces and require no internal support. This 1995 Spherical Puzzle box does have some minor shelf-wear plus the top front of the box is a bit concave just at top, as well as in the back (minor). This does not have any effect on the contents of this jigsaw puzzle. To show the concave spots, the images are there to point out the areas, showing how the puzzle box is a bit concave as mentioned though it is a bit difficult to show that in the photos. The puzzle is still brand new and sealed. Price reflects this notation.
