1. What is Talcid and what is it used for
Medicinal product to reduce gastric acidity.
For the complex treatment of diseases in which it is necessary to bind stomach acid:
complaints related to increased acidity,
gastro-esophageal reflux (???),
stomach and duodenal ulcers
For symptomatic treatment of:
heartburn and complaints associated with increased acidity; 500-1000 mg of hydrotalcite when needed.
gastro-esophageal reflux (GER), acute and chronic gastritis: 500-1000 mg of hydrotalcite 1-2 hours after meals, at bedtime and when symptomatic complaints appear. The total daily dose of 6000 mg of hydrotalcite should not be exceeded.
gastric and duodenal ulcer: 1000 mg of hydrotalcite 3-4 times a day after meals, during bedtime. The total daily dose of 6000 mg of hydrotalcite should not be exceeded. Treatment should be continued for at least 4 weeks after the symptoms have completely resolved.
Talcid is taken several times a day between meals and before bedtime. Other medicinal products should generally be taken one to two hours before or after taking Talcid (see section 2).
The duration of treatment takes into account the type and degree, as well as the course of the disease.
In case the complaints persist after 2 weeks of treatment, a doctor should be consulted.
