The Groveland Boots were designed and hand crafted in Montebelluna, Italy. Montebelluna is a small town in the foothills of the Treviso region of northern Italy, on the cusp of the Italian Alps. Despite it's small size (30,000 people), Montebelluna has been a shoe-making mecca since the 17th century (some reports date back to the 14th century). During the First World War, Montebelluna craft shops supplied shoes to the troops, which lead to the making of quality leather climbing boots in the 1920's. This skill set was passed down from generation to generation, and continues to this day.
