This is a Collectible Siamese Cat or Kitten (Gato Siames), Design Number 90 from the Artesania Rinconada Original Classic Series Collection. It was introduced in 1981 and is now retired and becoming hard to find. It is in excellent condition and the light cream color with the dark black accents makes it really stand out. It comes with the original box (which does show some age).

The sticker on the bottom reads J.J. Madison Co., Inc. 1981. Since 1972 Artesania Rinconada has been producing ceramic design items of the finest quality in Montevideo, Uruguay. They have become internationally known for the unique character and personality of their figurines. The Artesania Rinconada figurines were designed by Jesus and Javier Carbajales. Loosely translated the company's name means "art of the corner," and refers to the designs beginnings in the corner of the family home. This beautiful little cat is done in a solid ceramic that has been hand painted. The bottom has been signed with the initials "aR". It measures approximately 3 inches long by 3 3/4 inches tall. It is in the classic pose so common with Siamese Cats. This would make a great addition to your collection of Rinconada figurines or a great gift to anyone who owns a Siamese Cat.
