If you haven't yet read the Charlie Chan mysteries, here's the place to start. These two books are the first paperback editions. Biggers only wrote a total of six Chan books, surprising considering the large number of Charlie Chan movies made in the '30s & '40s! PARROT is a reading copy only with much cover wear and page corner creases; HOUSE is somewhat better. Both have secure bindings and white pages.
