First Perfume by Van Cleef & Arpels, With top notes of aldehydes, mandarin orange, black currant, raspberry, bergamot, and peach, First by Van Cleef & Arpels is a rich and intricate blend. Released in 1976, this scent is aptly named as it was the company’s introduction into the world of fragrances.
The floral middle notes include carnation, hyacinth, orchid, tuberose, jasmine, orris root, narcissus, lily-of-the-valley, Turkish rose, and ylang-ylang. Ylang-ylang is said to provide a soothing,

delicate scent and can be an aphrodisiac. Oak moss, vanilla, honey, musk, sandalwood, civet, Tonka bean, amber, and vetiver complete the perfume as a marriage of sweet and creamy base notes.
