Hand Picked List: Community Picks: Lady Liberty

I always wanted to see Lady Liberty. A few years ago we were visiting my hubby’s family in upstate NY. We took an overnight trip to visit mine in Manhattan area and went with them to see the Statue. I’m glad I was able to experience it, she’s pretty awesome!

I’ve never been there, lucky you. What a great list this is!

I was there several years ago and would love to go back sometime. Nice finds, Audi!

Hi Starry Jan and Robin, thanks :) She was worth the trip to the city. As far as the city goes, though.. you won’t find me there again. I’ve been there and done that.. the traffic was ABSURD!!

It’s so funny because being born and raised in NYC, you rarely visit these attractions. Usually, you’re on a class trip or hosting an out of town visitor. She is pretty awesome! Yet to visit Ellis Island.. The tours are definitely a great experience and investment.

Hi Closet, I find that to be true of locals in many places!! Definitely you should go to Ellis Island, it would be worth the experience. We weren’t able to enter the crown as tickets have to be purchased in advance and are very limited. The visit to my family there was impromptu so didn’t have time to be able to do that.
