Today, only some wind chill. I finally have the sheet of ice off the truck but the driveway is extremely slick. This morning I have been trying to chop at the ice. Yesterday I did salt the drive to get the ice to “bubble” up some. That did help with chopping at the ice. I could get out of the drive way but getting back in would be a problem. The end of the driveway has the thick layer of slick ice and cat litter just slides off the ice.
Hopefully, tomorrow I will have the driveway under control and get some shopping done.

I don’t know, but I woke up this morning to find virtually all the snow gone!

That was a really good thing.

A good thing with your WFC this week, Bette, is that you’ve got both a Q, and a Z. That will be fun!

Here’s my first word – unrequited. Feel free to use it, all!

Just popped into my head while I was copying the letters on my listing page!

and less than good…I’ll miss an “L”
Challenging phrase and I appreciate that.

Hope Jenn stops in again.

We got serious ice here, too, after a 58 degree rainy day yesterday into the night when temps dropped big time. Strange weather for sure. Hang in there. It will change.

Where is everybody? Miss you….but
My personal challenge is more difficult than I expected.
I figured find 500 or more words all including either a “Q”, a “Z” or both.
Yes, I said 5 or more letter words.
Well, I’m at just over 150 and almost to a halt.
Quite a challenge!
I may need to require another letter besides Q and Z

Thank you for hosting, Bette!

Hopefully the sun will come out and melt some of that ice!
That is a hard challenge, Joyce! Good luck!
Hi Carolyn!
Yesterday’s low was -5*F and today’s low is a balmy .3*F. Yesterday afternoon at the end of class we went outside to have our air tanks filled up. The sun was shining and it felt really nice so I went out in my t-shirt with no coat…Turns out it was 36*F. Going to spend as much time as possible studying this weekend. In house testing is Thursday, and certification testing of 3 random skills and written test is Friday. My shoulders can tell I haven’t spent time in full gear lately!

Still chopping away at the ice. There are spaces that are down to the gravel and more place with ice. The truck did start up today and I thought I could make a trip into town, but there is too much ice that I can’t get the truck out even with rocking it. Between water softener salt and table salt, it’s not enough and I don’t want to use a bag of cat litter. Just too much ice.

Hopefully it will get warmer tomorrow to melt some more ice.

Charlotte, glad you’ve had a little time out of full dress
Bette, it is supposed to warm here a little in the next few days.
Right now there is no ice or snow.
Looking good for February in spite of thje temps in the teems.

My personal challenge may be met.
I’ve finally hit over 400 words all including a “Q” a “Z” or both

It’s suppose to be a little warmer today, but there is a storm coming. I am hoping I can work on the drive way and chip away more ice so that I can get out and get some shopping done.

Working on listing on eBay and using up the additional 100 free listings. So far, half through them and I have until tomorrow to use them. I was hoping to start some sewing

I noticed the water coming off the gutter and was hoping that more of the icy driveway would disappear. I spent a couple of hours chopping ice and I have a good section of driveway cleaned up BUT under the truck is still a sheet of ice. I have one tire sort of dug out of the ice. Hopefully tomorrow, I can get the truck up and running and get some food.

Bette, we got enough snow today to cover the drive, walkway and grass heavily BUT decided not to shovel. It is supposed to warm to 37 degrees tomorrow. Let the warmth get rid of it.

My WFC exercise is at a point I could send my entry.
Yes, I made 500 words all including a Z or Q or both.
Checking again to make sure no inappropriate letters used. (too many G’s no L’s, C’s or Y;’s)
It will arrive way ahead of deadline.
My brain does feel exercised.

See you tomorrow

Since Tuesday night (when I was suppose to drop off the kitties for the vet) until this morning, I have been stuck.

It snowed again and there is plenty of white stuff to shovel, especially before the winds start later today.
Little girl is in heat again ad had to separate Alfalfa. He’s not too happy about that.

Well, Off to shovel

Snowy mix here but we managed to return home safely after red hat luncheon. (friend and I went together) While at lunch I had a call from Carolyn Short. She’s been in the hospital since Saturday. No idea what is wrong medically BUT when she woke Saturday she could hardly move or talk. She did manage to call an ambulance and get to the hospital. She told me to let Bonz friends know why she hasn’t been posting.

I wish Carolyn a speedy recovery and to return to her friends.

More snow today and spent part of the day shoveling. There is a thin layer of ice forming. This afternoon, I went back outside to do clean up of some more snow. The wind is starting to pick up and there will be drifts in the driveway tomorrow.
Fletcher spent the time helping me shoveling. He loves leaving his foot prints throughout the snow.

Those fur babies esp the felines really do amaze me.
They so often seem to really think through what they are doing.

Recently Bob changed the brand of treats to give Beau.
Beau never really cared that much about treats BUT now he actually begs for them. He also now jumps atop the counter expecting Bob left treats on the counter not expecting them in the above cupboard. Well, Bob made sure Beau saw him put the treats in the pantry with the regular door on it. He no longer jumps on the counter glad of that He just sits begging for the door to be opened and treats to be served.
They are amazing. They use their little brains more than we know.

I’ll be sure to tell Carolyn you said so, Bette.
I plan to call her again Wednesday.

Weather here went from bad to worse including more snow, colder temps again and 30 mph winds. Glad I got home from Red Hats before that all really got started. Winter! Don’t you just love it?

Shoveled snow this morning because of all the drifting. Fletcher had fun. He ran from the side of the garage and across the driveway when his butt hit the ice and he slid. LOL

Now I have the little girl locked in the kitchen so that Alfalfa can run around in the rest of the house.

Cats on ice…LOL…I wonder what it is they think is going on when that happens…

But when someone puts his dog to work and on ice…maybe that someone should’ve thought twice about what might happen…LOL!

Smart Dog, who’ll have NONE of someone trying to make him into an Alaskan type of dog, LOL!

We did good, Bette.
I do love the brain exercise AND your offerings of phrases.

I DO hope Carolyn soon returns.
I just now called the hospital she is in and learned she is in intensive care since last evening. I was not able to talk to her but the nurse agreed to give her message I had called. Obviously, no details about her condition or what is wrong with her.
We’re all with you, Carolyn

Called hospital again to hope to talk to Carolyn’s daughter. She wasn’t there BUT this nurse did tell me Carolyn is in stable condition. I’ll report if I learn more.

Oh no! So sorry to hear Carolyn is in the hospital! But glad to hear she is stable! Thank you for keeping us updated, Joyce!

Glad you finally got out of your driveway, Bette!

Hi Dee! Hope you are feeling better!

We had about 6" or so of super heavy snow and then rain yesterday on top of our two to three feet of snow on the ground so we spent some of the evening shoveling snow off the roof. Now it is 47*F and everything is melting rapidly and another warm-ish storm is supposed to be moving in this evening so there is flooding dangers for the area. (we should be fine) In house skills testing was today and certification written and skills test is tomorrow! YIKES!

Just realized I didn’t remark about the “Beet” doll.
Too funny. I’ll keep my eyes open and if I see one maybe I’ll pick it up and send to you. Looks like something you would enjoy.

No news about Carolyn. I’ll call the hospital tomorrow if I don’t hear something from Carolyn’s daughter or grandson. Dee, I’ll tell her when I finally talk to her about your Well wishes. We all want to see her back among us.

Weather here is CRAZY , too, Charlotte.
Yesterday was 51 and today dropped back into the low 20’s. make up my mind
